Due to the continuing Teacher’s Strike and the escalating situation I am very sorry to announce that this school will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 26th February 2013.
I am sorry because I had thought that we would be back at school tomorrow and able to continue and I said so to the many parents that called the school today. However, it seems that the period that we are entering now is one where there are many factors and forces at work that are very unclear and we need above all to be careful. There were several instances at schools that were open today that were quite ugly.
For those students that think this is fun, think again. Days will have to be added on in order to make up for lost time and that will not be enjoyable in the heat of the summer.
Once again, this will be for all classes.
I hope I will have better news for you tomorrow.

Due to the chaos that might ensue tomorrow if the Teacher’s Union carry out their threat to picket schools, this school will be closed tomorrow, Monday 25th February 2013.
This will be the case for all classes, even exam classes.

Here is an exact copy of what will be given to children tomorrow.
List of things that you need to take with you :
• Trainers (sports shoes)
• Pajamas (if you wear them)
• 4 T shirts
• Jeans/Trousers x 2
• Tracksuit bottoms
• Warm jumpers x 2
• Waterproof Jacket
• Waterproof Trousers. These can be purchased for 10,000 LL from any sports shop. Please note that there is NO need to purchase special skiing clothes. these are expensive and are not needed until you become good at skiing.
• Thick socks x 4
• Normal socks x 4 (NOTE you can never have too many socks!!)
• At least 2 pairs of shoes to wear, one will definitely get very, very wet. These include the trainers that were mentioned at the top of the list.
• Toothbrush and toothpaste and general bathroom stuff.
• Towel/s
• Warm hat and scarf
• Gloves (waterproof)
• Sunglasses – essential
• Sunblock/lotion. (a must as you can get VERY burnt on the slopes if it is sunny). This does not need to be too expensive.
• Lipsalve
• Five empty plastic bags for wet clothes and towels
Please note that the list is not exhaustive nor do you need everything on the list. They are just suggestions. The main thing to remember is that it is going to be very cold up there. Please make sure that everything is clearly labeled as one of the biggest problems that we have is clothes being lost. If you have any queries and would like to talk with me about any aspect of the camp, please call me directly on 03 275 931.
Please call my office at any time before the ski camp if you have questions. It is always much better to get things sorted out BEFORE we set off.
