Due to the debilitating number of staff absences in the Junior Department which have meant that we are having trouble even covering classes, let alone teaching them, the Junior Department will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 08FEB2022. Initially, this closure will only be for one day, returning on Thursday 10FEB2022. However, we may decide to close for longer. Details will be posted tomorrow afternoon/evening.

The Senior and Infant Departments will be open as normal tomorrow.

The whole school will be closed on Wednesday 09FEB2022 on the occasion of Mar Maroun.

Please note that SE02 MakeUp Exams will take place on Tuesday 08FEB2022 and Wednesday  09FEB2022 as has already been communicated.

1 : The SE02 MakeUp Exams that were due to take place on 04/05FEB2022 have been postponed to 08/09FEB2022.
2 : For those that were unable to attend the 04/05FEB2022 MakeUp Exams we had provided a second date at 3:30 pm on Tuesday 15FEB2022. This date has now been postponed to 3:30 pm on Friday 18FEB2022.
3 : If you were registered for MakeUp Exams on the 04/05FEB2022, your name will be on this list. Check it.
4 : If you contacted the school on 71 183 559 and sent them a screenshot of a COVID positive test that enabled you to delay your MakeUp Exams, your name should be on this list. Check it.

With the movement of the MakeUp Exams to a later date, your COVID status might have changed. Here is what to do IF your COVID status has changed.

A : You were on the list of people who had postponed their exams to 15FEB2022, but now you are able to do the MakeUp Exams on 08/09FEB2022 because you are now COVID negative (or will be out of isolation before 08/09FEB2022) and you want to register for the MakeUp Exams. This is simple : go to LESSON and register before midnight today, Monday 07FEB2022.

B : You were COVID negative and your name is on the list to do the exams on 08/09FEB2022 but now you have tested COVID positive over the weekend OR you are in isolation because a household member has tested positive. You now need to move your MakeUp Exam registration to 3:30 pm on 18FEB2022. Send a WhatsApp message to 71 183 559 with FOUR details :

1. Name
2. Username
3. Tell them that you are in the 3rd Group (they will understand)
4. A screenshot of the positive test and if it is NOT you who has tested positive but a member of your household, your relation to that person (Mum, Dad, sibling …)

We have had to send our mountain buses home early today because the weather is getting worse. Forecast say that the weather is also bad tomorrow.

In order to prevent chaos and disorder, the SE02 MakeUp Exams will take place on Tuesday 08FEB2022 from 3:30 pm until 8:30 pm OR Wednesday 09FEB2022 from 08:00 am until 3:30 pm.

Therefore NO MakeUp Exams will happen today (Friday 04FEB2022) OR tomorrow (Saturday 05FEB2022).

Due to a massive areawide internet outage on Thursday 03FEB2022 that lasted from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm, NO videos were uploaded yesterday.

I have had a few students contacting me and asking me what they should do about SE02 MakeUp Exams on Friday if they are COVID-19 positive and still in isolation.

This is my response.

I am arranging ANOTHER MakeUp Exam session 10 days from Saturday 05FEB2022 on Tuesday 15FEB2022 at 3:30 pm.

If you are COVID-19 positive and still in your 10-day isolation period OR you are self-isolating because a member of your household is COVID-19 positive (Mum, Dad, brother, sister …), the following applies to you.

1. You can MOVE your SE02 MakeUp Exams to Tuesday 15FEB2022
2. In order to do that, you need to provide a picture of a COVID-19 positive test result dated LESS than 10 days away from Saturday 05FEB2022, that means dated on or AFTER Wednesday 19JAN2022. Send the pic via WhatsApp to 71 183 559 BEFORE noon tomorrow, Thursday 03FEB2022. They will send you a confirmation message that your SE02 MakeUp Exams have been delayed until Tuesday 15FEB2022. NOTE : You cannot delay your MakeUp Exams for ANY OTHER reason. If it is a report for a sibling or a parent or a relative that lives in your house, you need to write on the report (Before you take a picture of it) the relationship to the person tested positive. An example would be : “Mr. Elie Bloggs is my Dad”
3. UNREGISTER from all MakeUp Exams this session on LESSON. If you forget to do this, you will be expected to attend this coming Friday or Saturday, (WHATEVER picture you send to 71 183 559 by noon tomorrow, Thursday 03FEB2022) and will promptly receive a ZERO if you do not attend on Friday or Saturday. This part is VERY important.
