Announcements : Sunday 15MAR2020

March 15, 2020 by Steve

Further to the announcement last Friday by the Ministry of Education, the school will be closed from Monday 16MAR2020 until Friday 20MAR2020.

We are also shutting the school facilities down completely and will be running only the following services from midnight tonight, Sunday 15MAR2020 :

General Office hours : The Junior Department building will be shut completely. All enquiries will have to be directed to the Senior Administration which will be open every day for phone enquiries only from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm. No visitors or appointments will take place this coming week. We will only respond to phone calls.

Accounting Office hours : The Accounting Office will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon.

The Distance Learning Project (DLP) is ongoing as teachers continue to post videos and worksheets through our internet portal LESSON (lesson.lesbg.com). All students will be fully responsible for all the material that has been covered in the videos posted by their teachers. The material in the videos will not be retaught.

There seems a strong possibility that in the near future the government will announce that unnecessary travel will be stopped. If any students need to get books or materials from school they can do so this evening, Sunday 15MAR2020, between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. They will not be allowed to come to school again to get any books or materials.

Tomorrow, Monday 16MAR2020 at 2:00 pm, I will be making an important announcement to all students via Livestream on YouTube. The URL for this broadcast is https://youtu.be/zlQZXwdKxmo

Keep praying. A tiny virus, unseen by the human eye, has brought the world to its knees. We ask Him to be merciful to us, our school, our community and our country and rely on His unfailing love.

Virtual Learning : A New Initiative

March 11, 2020 by Steve

As a school and staff we have been working hard over the last 5 days to provide videos and distance learning classes to the students in our school. All these have been communicated to students via our internet learning portal, LESSON.

Please make sure that you log on regularly to download and watch the videos that have been prepared. Any questions that students might have about the content of the videos must be communicated to their teachers via detailed written questions. All the work that has been covered in these virtual learning classes will NOT be covered again and will be examined once we return to school, whenever that may be.

There have even been exercises prepared by the Infant Department teachers. Exact details of how to access these will be communicated within the next 48 hours by SMS to parents of infant students.

Lebanon is in a difficult place at the moment. Please continue to pray with us that the Great King will show mercy at this hour of our great need.

School next week : 09MAR2020 – 15MAR2020

March 8, 2020 by Steve

Further to the announcement from the Ministry of Education this evening, the school will be closed for the next five school days. We will hope to reopen at 7:40 am on Monday 16MAR2020 unless the Minister announces an extension of the closure.

Monday 09MAR2020 has been declared Teacher’s Day and so there will be no teachers in school on that day.

On Tuesday 10MAR2020 there will be a General All School Staff Meeting at which we will determine the way that we will move forward. Details of what is decided in that meeting will be delivered to the student body and their families on Tuesday 10MAR2020.

The school will open tomorrow, Monday 09MAR2020 between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon for students to come and pick up any school books they forgot last week. They will need ALL their school books from the main subjects at home.

Please note that the school will NOT be open for students from Tuesday 10MAR2020 until Sunday 15MAR2020.

Keep praying with us that God will show the way, He is the only one that knows where this is going. We need His guidance. There are difficult days ahead but we will walk with Him.

Important video for protection at home and school

March 1, 2020 by Steve

The video below is an excellent short explanation that the best way to clean your hands is with soap and water! Hand sanitisers that are non-alcoholic are pretty much useless. Watch it for full details.

School next week : 02MON2020 – 06MAR2020

February 29, 2020 by Steve

Further to the announcement from the Ministry of Education last evening, the school will be closed for the next five school days. We will hope to reopen at 7:40 am on Monday 09MAR2020 unless the Minister announces an extension of the closure.

On Monday 02MAR2020 teachers will be at school preparing worksheets that will be done by all students over the following four days (Tuesday to Friday). This will mean between 4 and 5 hours per day for each student. These worksheets will include revision of all topics taken this year.

The school will NOT be open tomorrow, Sunday 01MAR2020, but will be open on Monday between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm for students to come and pick up all their school books. They will need ALL their school books from the main subjects in order to complete the worksheets set.

All worksheets will be uploaded on LESSON, hopefully by 5:00 pm Monday 02MAR2020.

Please note that the school will NOT be open for students from Tuesday 03MAR2020 until Sunday 08MAR2020 because a full a deep-cleaning of the entire premises will be undertaken during those days.

Pray with us that God will be merciful. This is going to be a very difficult week, particularly for parents that have to work and we hope and pray that we will be back at school by Monday 09MAR2020.
